Storage

  • Can be handled in a safe manner in containers for a long period. Avoid contact with copper and its alloys. DIPA drums should be stored in a cool and well-ventilated area, away from sources of ignition.

Health & Safety

  • Diisopropylamine is irritating to the skin, eyes, and mucous membrane. In case of contact, the affected area is to be washed with plenty of water at least for 15 minutes
  • A dilute solution of Acetic Acid (2%) may be used to neutralize the amine. Continuous inhalation of fumes and ingestion should be avoided. In case of inhalation, the victim should be moved to fresh air and oxygen should be administered. In case of ingestion, the victim should be made to consume copious quantities of milk and water. Medical advice should be sought at once. Personal protective equipment should always be used while handling.
